Lord of the Flies

what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?I think the mood of this novel is basically about the darkness and violent side of the human beings. Jack and Ralph's conflicts had made me to think like that. Since they are all kids, I thought they were going survive on the island very well by helping each other and make better condition, but Golding showed us the darkness of the human that even kids tries everything to survive on the island. More over that, they even wants to have the control of others. Jack also had done many violent action such as beats one of kid in his group just for showing other kids what he will do to them if they do not fallow him and even killing. This shows how fast and how easily the darkness and violent side of the human beings can overwhelm the good side of the human. During reading this novel, I actually had found some saddens in some way because if we think in different point of view, they are all about the same ages and they are killing each other to survive on that island. I do not know whether they had same thought with me or not but I think if I was Jack or one of them, I would be very regret about killing others and disturb others for me to survive on the island. It would be the saddest thing in the world to kill friends to keep their own lives. I just want that no body will face same situation with situation in the novel and our world will be peaceful.
