I think the novel, Fahrenheit 451, is one of the very good novels that I have ever read before. It makes me to think many things deeply. I had been using my imagination to thinking deeply about how would it be if the world is like that in the novel, which books are against the rule to read and keep it. The governments are afraid of losing power of control the society, and they are fooling citizen, so they will not lose the control of ruling the society. If our governments were like that, then the world might had changed to selfishness world, everyone only thinking of them selves. For example, I think it would be pretty much similar to Kim Jeong Ill, president of North Korea, because Kim Jeong Ill is the head communist party in North Korea and he does not want to lose control of North Korea, and he is making nuclear weapons so that no one can easily do things to him. Also, I had though that it will be scary if the firemen are burning books and houses like the firemen in the novel, but not extinguish the fire like our world's firemen. In the novel, the firemen are for burning books and house, but I had a question during reading this book, what happens if the house gets on fire by accident. Not because of caught by firemen that there was a book in the house, only just because of accident like usual. Will there be a new system that put out the fire in the novel?

entry of your choice.
I think the novel, Fahrenheit 451, is one of the very good novels that I have ever read before. It makes me to think many things deeply. Fahrenheit 451
are there any settings in this novel which you have found to be beautiful? or disturbing? or memorable? describe these settings and comment on why they were meaningful to you.
The setting of the Fahrenheit 451 is in the future society where all books are banned and it counts as the illegal to possess, and the house and books will be burned if firemen find out that people have books in their house. Even though keeping book is a illegal thing to do, there are some people keeping books in their house and be caught by the firemen and lose their house and books. In my opinion, I think this kind of society is very disturbing. Books are very important and very meaningful to the society and to the people and there are all kinds of important informations in the book. Many people like to read books for releasing stress or for their own enjoyment and people get knowledge and lessons from reading books. In addition to that, these days people study history to know what had happened long time ago by reading the books that people had wrote in the ancient time. It will be chaos if our society is like that banning all the books. If the books are not exist, then many people will be a fool, have no knowledge and have no idea about what had happened long time ago, and many people will live with great nervousness that they will be caught and lose their house and books. Even though I do not like to read books, it is important to not living in the society like that because I can learn lesson of life and get knowledge from books.

please choose one passage from the novel that is significant to you. why is this passage meaningful? please type it into one of your entries and comment on what you think about the passage.
"The sun burnt every day. It burnt Time……. Time was busy burning the years and the people anyway, without any help from him. So if he burnt things with the firemen and the sun burnt Time, that meant that everything burnt!" I think this passage is very important and very meaningful because this quote shows that the society in the novel is under the very bad situation and it shows that Montage is absolutely changed his mind from the fireman and thinking that world should be changed to positively, like long long times ago that was not an illegal thing to keep books. So that people read books and think about their actions and everyday lifes. He thinks that everything can not be burnt and something between one of them should stop burning to make the right society. Since the sun burnt time and the sun can not stop burning time, Montage thinks that firemen should be stop burning books and everything else. I think this passage is a very smart idea, because not everything is can be control by the human and since we can not control the nature, Montage had good thought about that the human in this novel should stop what they are doing and stop being fooled by the governments. Not only people who read books like Montage, but all people in the novel's society should realize that this world is not right and it should be changed.

what is the mood of this novel? do you find this novel saddens you in any way? why?
I think there is few different moods in this novel. At first, it was like emptiness. People in the novel are living without any purpose, no question or anything. Montage just find books and burn them, I felt nothing at this part. As book goes on, the mood changed to little bit nervous because of the feeling that might be caught by the firemen that Montage had keeping books in his house. Even though he was a fireman and he knows the rule, he kept books to figure out the meaning of the books. Another mood like sadness is appeared at the latter part of the novel because Montage had lost his wife and he can not remember anything about her, but he does not feel sad or anything like that, and he thought it is because he was not close enough with his wife, so he is regretting that what he had done in the past. At the same time, I think there was some kind of mood like angry, because he was a fireman and he can not forgive what he had done to books. I found saddens in this novel when the Montage was talking to the Granger's party that even though he had lost his wife, Mildred Montage, he was not feeling anything. How sad would it be if people are not feeling anything or have no feeling even though their member of family is dead. I think this part of the novel was little bit sadden.

Fahrenheit 451
what is the climax of this novel? what happens? how do the events of this novel make you feel?
I think the climax part of this novel is when Guy Montage kills captain Beatty with his flamethrower and run away from the government for his safety. This happened because Guy Montage had been caught that he was keeping books from other houses that he had burnt while he should burnt them. Since he was a fireman and he had been caught that he had books in his house, captain Beatty made Guy Montage him self to burn his house with his flamethrower and captain Beatty had places him under arrest. Later, Guy Montage had been caught by captain Beatty that he was listening to radio on his ear, so Montage had turn on his flamethrower on captain Beatty. At this point, Guy Montage had few choices to choose, such as just wait for the judgement and not kill captain Beatty. Since Guy Montage had decided to make a big decision, which is choose to kill captain Beatty and run away from the government to survive, I think this part is the climax part. This event in the novel makes me little bit afraid and scary because I can not even imagine how it will feel like if my house is destroyed and moreover that the house is destroyed by my self. Also, it will be very awful to kill people and see people burnt in front of me. For last, I felt very excited while reading this part because I was wondering what will happens to next to the Montage.

who are the main characters in the novel? do you like them? why or why not? what is special about them? what do they reveal about the universal human experience?
The main character in this novel is Guy Montage. I like Guy Montage in this novel because he is different from other firemen that he works with, he feel some kind of emptiness in his life and he tries to find out what it is. The special thing about him is that he is the third generation fireman and he steal and trying to understand what is the meaning in the books while he is supposed to not keep them but burn them. Guy Montage reveals about the universal human experience that he feels regret about what he had done in the past, which was burning books and not be close enough with his wife, Mildred Montage.
I think professor Faber is also a main character in the novel because he had made the main character, Montage, to make biggest decision, which is reach to the climax part of this novel. I am not sure about professor Faber whether I like this character or not because he do not come out at the novel for very long time. Special thing about professor Faber is that he had read lots of books and explained things to helped Montage to understand the meaning of books and encouraged Montage to make many important decisions. Professor Faber reveals about the universal human experience that he has lots and lots of knowledge and courage compared to other people in the novel because he had read lots of books even though it was against the law.

are there any current situations in the world that relate to the novel? what are they, and how do they relate? does the novel shed any light on how current situations could be resolved or "fixed"?
Yes, there are some kind of current situations in the world that is relate to the novel. I think situation like develop of internet uses is kind of relate to the novel's situation. Since the internet had developed, the books are less interesting to people than before because we can find most of the informations in the internet easily and saving much of time. Another big reason is that there are lots of addicting games people can enjoy using the internet. These days many people are playing games using internet and many people are addicted to it and those people who are addicted at internet games are hardly read book by them selves, I mean read book just for their enjoyment or release stress, but not by forcing to read. These problems which makes people to think books are less important than before. Develope of internet situation relates to the novel's situation, which is banning books, by they both are lower the importance of the books. I think if the internet is more developed and everything is in the internet, then the books will slowly disappear. In the novel, there is no ideas of how current situations could be resolved or fixed, but I think if (for example kids and their parents) parents put on some efforts to their children, such as reading books to their children and read book often. Their was a research that says if parents read many books, then kids like books than those do not.

Fahrenheit 451
what is the major theme of this novel? why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2007?
The major theme of this novel is kind of about antigovernment ruling society. The society in the novel had made some kind of situation that all the literature is against the rule to read and keep it. Governments think that the questions that come up with by reading books are dangerous to them, so the books are no longer can be read because reading can do something to someone else and reading books make people to have questions that leads to revolution. In the novel, the governments do not want to lose control of the society so they says its for trying to make people happy, make people free, and make people to have less stress, but the truth is that governments do not wants people to know what is real by letting people to not to think of anything or worrying about anything. This theme is important to a teenager living in 2007 because these days teenagers do not read many books and the theme of this novel tells us that reading book makes people intelligent and wise. Reading books makes people to think and ask questions and by getting the answer of the question, people build their knowledge. Since our government is not like that in the novel, but almost opposit, our government wants society and them selves to be improved every year, and governments wants people to be intelligent, so teenagers should read many books and have questions and come up with the answer to improve our society.
